Nepal is set to import 80 Megawatt of electricity from India through the Dhalkebar-Mujjafpur Cross Border Transmission line. The import is being made under the government's short-term policy of coping with the severe power outage in the country Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) signed the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) in this regard with the Indian Government 's nodal agency NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited (NVVN) on Monday. With this agreement, additional 80 MW of electricity will be linked to the national transmission grid from Tuesday. As per the agreement, the purchase rate is INR 3.44 (Rs 5.50) per unit. Additional Rs 1.53 paisa will be added to the purchase price as leakage fees. NEA Executive Director Mukeshraj Kafle and NVVN General Manager AK Maggu signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides. The agreement was signed as the execution of the decision made by the second meeting of Joint Steering Committee of the energy secretary-level mechanism of both countries held on January 29. The fresh agreement on power purchase from India would address to some extent the problem of blackouts in the country, the NEA said in a press statement. RSS<br />

:Madhav Ghimmire is a living legend. Born in 1919, he is among the last of the older generation of poets in Nepal. His contemporaries – Bal Krishna Sama, Laxmi Prasad Devkota, and Siddhicharan Shrestha – have become historical figures in the annals of Nepalese literature; Ghimire is the only link to their past. A time in which these poets created some of the most powerful verses in Nepali literature. Today, their works are studied in school, college, and university. Madhav Ghimmire does echo the past. His eyes twinkle as he fondly remembers old times. At this point in his life, he is eight-one years old, he expresses contentment regarding his personal and professional experiences. Ghimire knows his destiny has been proven and he is pleased about it. His childhood, youth, and adulthood are now memories he reflects upon calmly. His innate love for the study of literature has made possible the growth of his poetic genius. As he recites a few lines from “Rupa Rani”, one can appreciate the rhythmic use of his words. What comes to mind is the play of sunlight on water, the breeze soft on the skin, and the sensation of lightness. Ghimire caresses words like an ardent lover; he seeks for emotional gratification in his creations and is comforted. His childhood was spent in Lamjung District – among the hills, trees, rivers, and birds of rural Nepal and he grew up playing nearby cowsheds – the herders, cows and calves his close companions. Ghimire’s father was the second son in the family and was responsible for looking after cattle. They lived as a joint family and had enough to go by. The eldest son looked over household affairs and farming. <div>

There is a massive storm headed your way!” Catch the second trailer for Baltasar Kormákur’s Everest movie, the intense adventure thriller based on the real story of a climb up Mount Everest gone bad. We’ve seen one trailer and a featurette already, but this second one shows a bit more and has a breathtaking “holy crap!” feeling. There’s also some very tricky editing, as that part where Josh Brolin is climbing over the big crevasse on the ladder is not actually after the scene where they reach the summit, that’s part of the climb very early on on the mountain. But it all ties together at the end, and they really sell the intensity and sheer awe of this. I really can’t wait to see it! Starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Jason Clarke, John Hawkes, Robin Wright, Michael Kelly, Sam Worthington, Keira Knightley & Emily Watson. See the trailer below. The cinematography alone is stunning.The star quotient is impressive too, with Jake Gyllenhaal, Emily Watson and Keira Knightley all in supporting roles. Knightley plays the pregnant wife of Rob Hall (Jason Clarke), a rugged New Zealander and one of several entrepreneurs who in the 1990s turned the ascent of Everest into a commercial enterprise. <div>
